Over the vast distance of space, our sun expends tremendous
amounts of energy. In fact, the earth receives more energy from the sun in just
one hour than the world uses in a whole year.
With any energy source the efficiency British Thermal Unit ( BTU's ) needs to be calculated to be cost effective. There are many other variables involved in calculating the efficiency of an energy source other then just the BTU's. Some of the other factors are: pollution ( air, water, land, etc. ), health factors ( asthma attacks, upper respiratory illness, cancer, etc. ), loss of power ( torque, voltage loss, heat, cooling, etc. ), safety ( fire, life, etc. ), environmental factors ( eco-system ). Their are many others factors then those listed above to calculate the efficiency of an energy source, but this is a small overview.
Petroleum - Natural Gas - Crude Oil - Coal - Electricity 2) Diesel - 3) Coal - 4) Nuclear - 5) Alternative Energy -
